Just a block off the beach, the Daily News cafe offers patio dining and inside dining as well. Choose to sit outside on the quaint patio if you have a choice. A little more pricey than other restaurants around, but they make it up in large portions. The service has always been prompt and friendly whenever I have eaten here. |

Garcia's is definitely not my choice for Mexican cuisine. It just happens to be one of the long time restaurants you will find on State Street. Not one of the better Carlsbad Ca restaurants.
Personally, I find the food over-priced and tasteless. But, the chips are crisp and it is fun to be on State Street where you can people watch from your table. Garcia's has just undergone a renovation (too bad they didn't put more effort into their menu!) and it is now a gaudy site on our quaint Village main street. |
